Could You Lay Down a Full House on the River?

An amazing hand between Phil Ivey and Jerry Fitt. Fit calls a pre-flop raise from Ivey with J9s against Ivey's KK. Flop comes KK9. Ivey and Fitt check the flop and a see a rag hit on the turn. Ivey bets, Fitt raises, and Ivey takes awhile to call. River is the worst card in the deck, a 9. Fitt is staring at a full house, 9's full of kings. He checks and Ivey pushes.

Could you lay that hand down?

Phil Ivey and Jen Harman Mix It Up

Unlucky for Phil. He picks up JJ against Harman's AA and follows her to the river. Fortunately he read the hand right and figured there's no way Jen's firing three barrels without having something so he folds and saves himself calling $20,000.

WPT and Full Tilt Poker - What a Combo

Just got news that the online home of Phil Ivey, Full Tilt Poker, will be offering satellites into two major WPT events. You can win a seat into either the WPT LA Poker Classic or the WPT Bay 101 (or both, if you're good/lucky). Both are $10,000 buy-in events and the Full Tilt Poker package comes with money for travel and acomodations so it's really a pretty sweet deal.

Isildur1 Down $5.3 Million

If you've been watching the high-stakes games on Full Tilt Poker recently you'll note that a mysterious player Isildur1 has been giving players like Phil Ivey and Tom Durrr Dwan a good run. He's posted some serious wins as well as some spectacular losses. But nothing is as sick as his loss the other day of $5.3 million. Dwan is down a cool $5 million in just the last month alone himself but Isildur1's $5.3 million one-day loss has to be some sort of online poker record.

Don't forget to watch these high-stakes games on Full Tilt. They are amazing.

Phil Ivey Putting Pressure on Jeff Shulman

Jeff Shulman raises with pocket nines and Phil Ivey looks down at KQ and challenges Shulman for a big chunk of his stack by going all-in. Ivey knows that Shulman is trying to stay out of confrontations early at the final table and takes advantage of the fact that Shulman doesn't want to coin flip for most of his chips.

The Value Bet Bluff

A truly excellent example of why Phil Ivey is one of the best poker players in the world. Sensing weakness in his opponent he bets the river with nothing hoping his opponent will read it as a value bet designed to milk some more chips out of him.
